The mix of interests, topics and irrational internal connections is an introduction to a story writing itself in all possible directions at the same time. Since humans tends to search for solid ground, routines and comfort in there lives and to an extreme extend in a critical, unrecognizable or confusing situation. The combination of lost directions and the panic of holding on to more stable versions than the itself, creates an unpredictable, sensational and hysterical journey towards the final, heard of only in the stories.

The opportunity to investigate the nature of an expedition in the search for lost sense, with certain expectations from an audience knowing how the story will end, creates an amnesiatic situation of backtracking during three months and contextualize the intentions behind all possible actions within the frame of this projects development.

After three months of introducing a situation organized as the last page in a chapter you already unconsciously read, the dinners at Clarion will situate themselves as an exclusive close up on one of the corners of a frame in were the work will operate. In such a spread collaborative work its open to take a chance in the participation, renegotiation and create a wider and more stable communal sense useful for the unpredictable new points of departure.

Its comforting to see a journey with no memory of birth, in between life and death, existing as such, and creating a unique slowness or idleness to reflect upon unpolished knowledge as it passes.

Projekt är kopplat till den rådande Artist in residence trenden som gör det möjligt för bland annat konstnärer att arbeta i nya miljöer, delta i utbildningar, utställningar, uppleva platser, knyta nya kontakter och få en arbetsplats att utgå ifrån.

Stipendiet innefattar tillgång till det planerade programmet, en sittplats i restaurangen samt ett stipendium på en tre rätters middag inklusive dryck, garderob kostnader samt kaffe på maten.

Aktuell stipendieperiod är preliminärt: en dag/ middag med ett rullande schema för dom utvalda konstnärerna under utställningstiden på Clarion Hotell 2007. Varje dag kommer det alltså att sitta två konstnärer vid det utvalda bordet i restaurangen.

Mötet blir även till en skulptur av mötet mellan den gamla konstnären (som betalade med en teckning) och den nya unga konstnären som reser jorden runt placerad i nya miljöer och får möjligheten att jobba och berätta något om platsen som ingen kände till.

Projektet i sig skapar också en bild av det problematiska i att medvetet använda konstnärer och kulturarbetare som dragplåster för mer penning starka kunder.

Det bidrar även till en form av om distribution av dom tillgångar som bjuds i ett projekt, jag förespråkar en form av omstrukturering för nyttan och begär. En aktion istället för ett förslag där fler får ta del och skapa innehåll.

AIR:s program kommer också att innehålla special inbjudna gäster som av olika anledningar har vägarna förbi Stockholm.

Beroende på dina intressen och din ansöka kommer du att träffa en person som juryn har valt speciellt för att skapa enspännande och produktiv kombination.

The project is connected with the present trend of resident programs that is running all over the world. With the possibility to let artist experience different part of the world, get a place to work, meet new people, work in a different context, show works and get new contacts.

The grant at artist inn restaurant consists of a place in the given program, a seating place in the restaurant, three course dinner, something to drink and coffee if you like.

The period of the residency is preliminary, one day/ dinner for two chosen artists every day during the period of the show at Clarion hotel. There will be two artists sitting at a particular table in the restaurant every day during a period of 30 days.

The meeting turns into a meeting with the older artist that you might find in a restaurant, paying his dinner with one of his drawings, and the young artist traveling the world situated in new situations with possibilities to work and tell something new about places that no body new about before.

The project would also focus on the problematic in using artist and other cultural producers to brand a business to lure the economically stronger costumer to this particular shop, restaurant or club.

The project would also reform and distribute the possibilities you find in the project frame, a reform of what you need and what you think is useful. An action instead of proposal were more than one can be part of the production.

Artist in restaurant’s program will also invite special artist that for some reason have time to sit down in Stockholm for a while.

The Jury will choose and decide who you will meet to create a productive and interesting dinner meeting, all depending on your interests and your application.
